Ultimate France
One of the greatest wine excursions we ever hosted was “April in Paris” in 2019, and anyone who went on that trip will tell you that it was one of the most incredible wine and food experiences of their lives. In fact, most will end up on this trip, too, we assure you!
Now imagine taking that trip to the next level, because that’s exactly what we’ve done! Join us in June for The Ultimate France: A Wine & Culinary Trip of a Lifetime featuring five days of pure decadence, starting and ending in Paris – with some unbelievable excursions in between.
Unofficial Off-Grid
(Early Birds)
PARIS
Monday, June 19
For those coming into town early, we’ll warm up to the official kickoff with a relaxed get-together Monday evening, off-grid. Please let us know if you’d like to connect for an ‘off the program’ gathering and we’ll provide you with details!
The Official Kick-Off:
Le Gabriel at La Réserve Paris
PARIS
Tuesday, June 20
We’ll officially kick off the festivities at one of the most gorgeous, perfectly situated, and luxurious hotels in the world, La Réserve, with a welcome dinner at the two-Michelin starred Le Gabriel. Just off the Champs-Elysées, the refined yet incredibly chic La Réserve is just one of famed hotelier Michel Reybier’s many luxury properties, which includes none other than Cos d’Estournel in Bordeaux. Originally designed by Pierre Cardin on the premises of his mansion in the late 1980s, the hotel boasts one of the grandest views of Paris - overlooking the Eiffel Tower, Pantheon, Grand Palais, and Concorde obelisk – and Chef Jérôme Banctel’s cuisine at Le Gabriel pairs perfectly with not just a killer wine list, but also the stunning ambience of the hotel.
We won’t spoil all the surprises in store for the evening’s wine lineup yet, but look forward to multiple vintages of Trimbach Clos St. Hune, grand cru white Burgundies galore, DRC showstoppers, and a handful of mature Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle to pique your interest!
La Cuverie de Vosne Romanee
with Comte Louis-Michel Liger-Belair
VOSNE ROMANEE, BURGUNDY
Wednesday June 21
Wednesday will bring us from Paris to Burgundy, with transportation provided, to experience the just opened and amazing passion project of Comte Louis-Michel Liger-Belair - La Cuverie de Vosne Romanée. The 600-square meter village square was completely restored and reinvigorated by the Comte himself, designed to bring life back to the town where Louis-Michel’s family has been working the vines since 1815. It features a wine bar, café, organic grocery, post office, and more – designed as a gathering space for the town’s inhabitants, and a beautiful place for travelers to indulge in all the charms of Vosne Romanee. We’ll begin with a tasting at the cuverie of some 2020s from the Comte, followed by an exquisite dinner featuring Vosne Romanée’s greatest wines including Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, Mugneret-Gibourg, Dujac, Meo Camuzet, Drouhin, Domaine de la Romanée Conti and more!
Transportation included from Paris to Burgundy by luxury bus. Hotel accommodations are not included, however booking recommendations are available upon request.
Day to Night with Chave
Domaine Visit, Tasting, & Dinner at La Pyramide
with Jean-Louis Chave
RHONE VALLEY
Thursday, June 22
After spending the night in Burgundy, we’ll head to the Rhone Valley on Thursday for an experience afforded to few – an intimate visit with Jean-Louis Chave at the Domaine where he'll illuminate the art of blending vineyards in Hermitage. Following the tasting, and weather permitting, Jean-Louis will escort us to his beautiful Monopole in Saint Joseph, Clos Florentin, where we will taste more wines with him before heading to La Pyramide for dinner.
Just south of Lyon, La Pyramide is one of the most charming establishments in Vienne. A decades-long icon on the culinary scene, La Pyramide is a beautiful and charming Relais & Chateau property, and one of the most famous restaurants in the Rhone Valley. The evening will feature the two-Michelin starred cuisine of Chef Patrick Henriroux paired with wines selected by Jean-Louis and pulled directly from the Chave cellars, including his red and white Hermitage, Cuvee Cathelin, and a vin de paille – with vintages going back to the 1950s!
