RECORD-SHATTERING BIRTHDAY AUCTION SETS NEW BAR WITH $17.2 MILLION IN SALES

Burgundy dominated the Top Ten Lots with a diverse representation, spreading the wealth among seven iconic Domaines. The number one prize was a two-way tie, with a Methuselah of 1991 Domaine de la Romanee Conti La Tache and the Domaine-direct barrel of 2020 Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin Clos St. Jacques each hammering for an incredible $323,700, both New World Records. The Domaine-direct barrel of 2020 Roulot Mersault Clos des Boucheres took third place, ringing in at an impressive $249,000, another World Record. Fourth place was won by ten bottles of 1993 Henri Jayer Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux at $149,400, while twelve bottles of 1999 Rousseau Chambertin took fifth prize for $99,600, also setting a New World Record. Henri Jayer appeared again in sixth place with twelve bottles of 1999 Henri Jayer for Georges Echezeaux selling for $93,375. Coche-Dury emerged in seventh place with another New World Record price of $87,150 for six bottles of 1996 Corton Charlemagne. Domaine Leroy joined the Top Ten at number eight with a tie at $80,925 for only two bottles each of 1993 Musigny and 2001 Musigny, with the 2001 setting another New World Record. Finally, tenth place was a six-way tie between three bottles of 2009 DRC Romanee Conti, eight bottles of 1990 Leroy Chambertin, eight bottles of 1991 Leroy Chambertin, twelve bottles of 2009 DRC La Tache, nine bottles of 1996 Coche-Dury Mersault Perrieres and twelve of 1996 D’Auvenay (Leroy) Puligny Montrachet Les Folatieres hammering down at $74,700 each, with the Coche-Dury and D’Auvenay each setting New World Records.
