After a successful spotlight on the red wines of the Northern Rhone Valley, the Acker team is back once more to discuss the somewhat under the radar white wines from both the Northern and Southern Rhone. From Viognier to Marsanne and Roussanne in the Northern regions of Condrieu, Hermitage and beyond, to the complex blends of Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc in the south, these wines often lie in the shadows of their red wine cellar mates, though they offer tremendous diversity and pairing possibilities at the table. These wines are unctuous yet subtle, full of textural pleasure, and some of our favorite white wine that are available to add to your cellar and lay down! Join us as we take a longitudinal look at the white wines of the Rhone Valley and introduce you to some bottles you’ve never tried before!
Wines include:
8:00PM ET ZOOM
2016 Domaine Faury Condrieu
2018 J.L. Chave Selection Crozes Hermitage Blanc Sybele
2017 E. Guigal Chateaneuf du Pape Blanc

Chateau de la Tour is the heart of Clos Vougeot as well as its most important Domaine. The Chateau de la Tour is located entirely within the walls of the famed vineyard of Clos de Vougeot, just downhill from the landmark castle that bears the same name. It is the only Clos Vougeot vinified inside the Clos de Vougeot! The Clos de Vougeot vineyard is by far the largest Grand Cru in Burgundy, and Chateau de la Tour is its largest landowner. The wines of Chateau de la Tour are exceedingly long-lived, with a tremendous combination of power and grace. The vines for Chateau de la Tour average forty-five years old, with their Vieilles Vignes being over seventy-five years old! Our old, trusted friend François Labet, proprietor of this esteemed Domaine, is not only a great winemaker, but also a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and it is a pleasure to share his company, and the company of his cellar with you!
