Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Hosted by Winemaker Mark O'Connell
Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Dinner
The Wine Workshop is thrilled to announce this wonderful dinner of classic Burgundy hosted by Mark O'Connell, owner and winemaker of Domaine Clos de la Chapelle. Mark is a true connoisseur and a great lover of Burgundy. His passion for collecting culminated in the purchase of this small and historic Domaine in Volnay in 2011. Mark is the only remaining American grower/winemaker in Burgundy today. The property includes an amazing and exclusive selection of only Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, including the monopole, Clos de la Chapelle, which traces its origins back to the 13th century. Mark is the fourth owner of the Clos in the vineyard's lengthy history. Mark’s vision is to facilitate the purest expression of terroir possible for each individual parcel. The grapes are hand harvested and the farming is organic and biodynamic. His approach to winemaking is non-interventionist, and the resulting wines are truly outstanding. You will find many of the wines in New York’s greatest restaurants, including Brooklyn Fare, Per Se, Jean Georges, Jungsik, Daniel, Marea, Blue Hill, Le Coucou, The Nomad, Little Park, and Masa. Not only do sommeliers love these wines, the critics do as well!
