If you were to pick one wine to show how great a dry Riesling can be it would surely be the Keller G-Max. The estate is in Rheinhessen where wine makers Klaus Peter and Julia Keller have single-handedly started a renaissance in the region. Famous vineyards (Kirchspiel, Hubacker, Morstein and Abtserde), long forgotten have been resurrected by them to produce some of the greatest wines in all of Germany. The intensity and power of Keller’s Grand Cru Rieslings are incredibly beautiful with focused minerality and a kaleidoscope of complex flavors that will make your palate soar. Above all is their majestic G-Max bottling named after Klaus Peter Keller’s great grandfather George and his son Maximillian. The production is minuscule with under 2000 bottles being released worldwide. It’s made from their oldest vines on limestone soil with extremely low yields. This fascinating and delicious wine is considered the Montrachet of Germany! You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to experience the vertical of this ultra rare and collectable wine.
