There is a touch of the exotic to the dried yellow fruit aromas that include lychee nut and spice hints. The middle weight flavors are clean, cool and utterly delicious with a really lovely acid/fruit balance on the powerful, intense and lingering finish. There is a saline hint on the long finale where a touch of gas is present so be sure to decant this if you're going to try one young. Drink 2017+

The 2010 Clos de la Barre is a lovely, tight and racy example of the vintage. The very pure and classy nose offers up scents of apple, pear, incipient notes of almond paste, very pure, chalky minerality and a lovely base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and snappy, with a good core of fruit, a brisk girdle of acidity, laser-like focus and excellent snap and grip on the very long, transparent finish. This will not be the most concentrated of vintages of Lafon Clos de la Barre, but it may well make up for that at maturity with its precision and mineral drive. Drink between 2015-2035.

Fruit-driven aromas of peach, apricot, pear and flowers. Then juicy and tight in the mouth, with strong citrussy acidity leavening the wine's mid-palate sweetness. The long, peachy finish shows lovely finesse for this bottling.

A more typical expression of Meursault emerges from the 2010 Meursault Clos de la Barre. Slate, crushed rocks, lime, citrus and white stone fruits are woven together in this delineated, vibrant wine. The Clos de la Barre possesses tremendous depth, but here polish reigns supreme. Floral notes add lift and total refinement on the finish.
