Established in 1879, Kentucky Owl Bourbon was the brainchild of Charles Mortimer Dedman. Things were going well until Prohibition saw his stock confiscated and subsequently destroyed by fire in a government warehouse. With no compensation forthcoming for his loss, C.M Dedman quit the distilling business for good. Almost 100 years later his great-great Grandson Dixon reignited the business, releasing his first batch of bourbon from purchased aged stock. The brand proved an instant hit, catching the eye of the Stoli Group. Confiscated Bourbon is a tribute to C.M Dedman and the devastation of Prohibition. This infamous whiskey has hints of cookie, spice and banana, balanced with red apple and citrus fruits. Confiscated is extremely well-crafted and drinks like a mature Bourbon.
