As in 1990, the most sexy and flattering wine is the 1991 Cooke Vineyard Zinfandel. The deep ruby/purple color is followed by a smoky, earthy, plummy nose. There is a Pomerol-like velvety texture and lushness to this heady wine with tremendous quantities of succulent, rich fruit. Fragrant, lusty, and voluptuous - altogether a real turn-on - it is presently the most complex and satisfying of the Ravenswood Zins.
