This is the first vintage from this vineyard under Raúl’s proprietary Ultreia range; this wine is composed of the oldest and highest altitude rows in the parcel, some as old as 120 years! Mostly Mencía with Bastardo, Garnacha Tintorera, and the white varietals Doña Blanca and Palomino. This underwent spontaneous whole-cluster fermentation and a 60-day post fermentation maceration, raised for one year in used barrique, and bottled sans fining and filtration. This is promising to potentially be Raúl’s most intense Bierzo red yet!
