Laurent Lignier counted himself quite lucky with this wine, as les Poisets was just on the edge of the hail damage and only twenty percent of the crop was hit, so things turned out far better than they could have in this parcel. The wine has turned out beautifully and shows none of the signs of disequilibrium that is found in more hail-affected wines in 2018. The bouquet is pure, precise and black fruity, offering up scents of dark berries, cassis, dark soil tones, gamebird, espresso and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very well-balanced, with fine-grained tannins, impressive length and grip and a very promising finish. Good juice. 2025-2055.
