The 2009 Pinot Noir Moulin Rouge Pisoni Vineyard, which was harvested on September 6th, exhibits lots of dark blue and black raspberry fruit, some minerality, medium to full body, and a compact, still austere finish. It will benefit from more time in the bottle, and should drink well for 6-8 years.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge Pisoni Vineyard emerges from the glass with soft, floral infused raspberries, hard candy and spices. It is a pretty, elegant wine that captures both the essence of the Pisoni Vineyard and the Peter Michael house style.

Firm, rich, intense and concentrated, this fragrant, well-structured red shows loamy earth, dried berry, mineral and cedar notes. Slow to unfold, this gains depth and dimension while retaining a tight framework.

Deep ruby-red. Intense aromas of red berry preserves and cherry-cola, with complicating notes of dried rose, five-spice powder and white pepper. Ripe red berry flavors boast liqueur-like depth and intensity but there's an almost weightless quality to this wine that I find really intriguing, especially in light of its 16% (!) alcohol. Shows peppery spice and floral notes on the long, sappy, gently sweet finish.
