Pale gold, bordering on straw in color, the 2020 Caillottes boasts an enticing bouquet of pear, orange blossom, lime, and crushed stones with vivid hints of anise, lemon, and white flowers. Pungent citrus and chalky mineral notes alight the palate, showing off searing acidity, fresh pear and Japanese plum flavors mesh beautifully with vivacious brine notes and racy minerality. There is terrific length and underlying power to this expressive, almost exquisite Sauvignon, that leaves delightful citrus and saline mineral notes lingering on the finish. Absolutely delicious!
