Sourced from Hajo’s primary top holdings Wallufer Walkenberg, this is a special selection within it of the oldest vines, dating over 50 years – is the estate’s top bottling from the vintage of 2020 and can be considered his “GG” or Großes-Gewachs. It flaunts a playful balance of directness – it is stern yet with beguiling density that doesn’t add weight, but takes you deeper. The wine draws incisions down the palate, slowly to be coaxed with more structure and flashes of tensile rock. Certainly a wine for the ages that can be laid down for years to come.
