"In particular, this seems a good deal more massive in 2002 than usual with its trademark power but despite the size and weight, there's no absence of elegance or finesse. Structured yet beautifully balanced with wonderfully depth, this is a very closed wine for the vintage, indeed as backward as the Richebourg. The minerality is almost pungent, especially so on the stunningly long backend. In short, this is very promising as the raw material is superb but it will clearly require plenty of patience."
