Dalla Valle's Cabernet Sauvignon is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. Dark red and purple fruit, spices, licorice and violets jump from the glass. Sexy, nuanced and utterly stunning, the 2010 has it all; expressive aromatics, layered fruit and the most polished tannins imaginable. A textured, creamy finish rounds things out in this head-spinning Cabernet Sauvignon from Naoko Dalla Valle. The first impression is one of exuberance, but then the wine shuts down very quickly in the glass. Readers need to give the 2010 at least a few years in bottle to fully come together.

The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is slightly richer, revealing more smokiness, graphite and creme de cassis notes as well as a dense purple color, a big, masculine, tannic mouthfeel and a full-bodied, rich finish. This majestic Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. It possesses slightly more sucrosity and flesh than the 2009, but both of these are brilliant examples of hillside Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Cabernet Franc.
