Ripe, fresh and beautifully layered aromas are comprised by notes of plum, black raspberry, anise and spicy jasmine tea. There is outstanding volume to the caressing and seductive but powerful and muscular large scaled flavors that deliver first-class persistence on the moderately austere and superbly persistent finish. Like the Clos de Vougeot, this is compact and very firm and a wine that will require extended patience, but it should be well-worth the wait. *Burghound Don't Miss!*

The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru was dense and broody on the nose, a stroppy teenager hiding in his bedroom. It only reluctantly offers blackberry, briar and pressed iris flower aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, one of the most decadent of Grivot’s 2019s in barrel. Touches of dark chocolate and black truffle enhance the persistent finish. Very saline and spicy on the aftertaste. This is a long-term Echézeaux.
