Planted in 1944 by Laurent’s grandfather in a soil made up of 50cm clay on top of a gravel bed. Bottled in July. Perfect Aligoté nose, and indeed on the palate but ripe. Perhaps a bit fleshy behind, and a little lemon meringue . A tiny bit confected to finish, but really nice even if not quite the tension. Tasted: November 2021.
