Reviews & Scores
This Pinot provides a rich, elegant band of spicy wild berry, black cherry and raspberry scents accented by nutmeg, spice and hazelnut before returning to the delicious medley of berry flavors. Impeccably balanced, graceful and delicate.

The 2002 Pinot Noir Ryan comes across as a classic premier cru from Gevrey-Chambertin with its Allspice, beet root, cola, and earth-like personality as well as its dry, tannic, austere style. Plum, berry, and forest floor notes are also found in this complex, French-styled Pinot that should drink well for 5-10 years.

Deep red. Raspberry and strawberry fruit aromas complicated by mocha, baking spices and underbrush. Sweet but high-pitched, with firm acids giving shape to the flavors of red berries, espresso and smoked meat. Rich and dense, if a bit youthfully reduced. Broadens out impressively on the back end, which features sweet tannins. Thicker and more complex than this producer's regular RRV Pinot, but sappy and not at all heavy.
