Jacques Selosse first purchased vines in Avize in 1947, but it wasn’t until 1964 that he started bottling his own wines. His son, Anselme, took over the estate in 1974. Anselme Selosse is a controversial figure in Champagne, acknowledged as one of the region’s great winemakers, but not without his detractors. Before taking over for his father, Anselme studied in Burgundy. While not officially biodynamic or organic, his winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in nature and respect for terroir, preferring to have the cycles of the moon guide him in the vineyard. His wines are profoundly individual and beautifully reflective of the terroir with incredible complexity and a great ability to age. Selosse’s wines have become some of the most coveted wines in all of Champagne, and for good reason. We are thrilled to present a superb lineup of these amazing wines. If you are a lover of Champagne, even if you are new to the wines of Selosse, you will not want to miss this stunning evening.
